If the trailers (see: the Japanese-subtitled clip above) for Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman are indeed representative of the final product, then this could be one grand, Gothic fairy tale-turned fantasy epic. SWATH will at least be worlds apart from the Twilight knockoff we were concerned it could be, way back when Viggo Mortensen passed on the Huntsman role – and was eventually replaced by Chris Hemsworth.
SWATH director Rupert Sanders and his production team have certainly conjured up some deliciously macabre imagery so far – especially when it concerns Charlize Theron as the ferocious Queen Ravenna. Every appearance she’s made in the Snow White footage unveiled to date has proven memorable, to say the least.
