Andy and Lana Wachowski are ready to deliver a new original sci-fi vision in the form of Jupiter Ascending: an original project from the Matrix creators which was first officially announced last fall, but is only now starting to really come together. That’s mostly due to the filmmaking siblings having only recently completed production on their collaboration with director Tom Tyker (the Cloud Atlas adaptation).
Natalie Portman was previously said to have been approached by the Wachowskis to headline Jupiter Ascending, but a new report from Deadline indicates that Warner Bros. has gone ahead and offered the film’s respective female and male lead roles to two different big name actors: Portman’s Black Swan co-star Mila Kunis, and the currently-ubiquitous Channing Tatum.
